Arts Education Portfolio

 

Shaiful has been working in arts education for more than a decade, ranging from secondary school to university level programmes. His roles have ranged from being a lecturer, teacher, mentor, arts consultant, drama instructor and student development officer. These include institutions like LASALLE College of the Arts, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and more.

Arts Management Lecturer

Shai is an adjunct lecturer on the BA in Arts Management programme at LASALLE College of the Arts. He has also guest lectured at Singapore Management University and London Studio Centre. At Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he has provided mentorship support to students on the MA in Creative Producing. He is also currently a faculty member of the Diploma in Creative Producing by UK-based CGO Institute.

 

Arts Consultant


Shai has worked with Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Student Development and Alumni Relations Office to work with their Arts CCAs for school-based programmes like NP Arts Fiesta (2012-2015), NP Open House (2013-2015) and the NP50 Celebrations.

 

He also directed the Closing Ceremony performance of the Polytechnic Forum 2013 organised by Nanyang Polytechnic and has coordinated the Aesthetics programme at Junyuan Secondary School. where he initiated the "Encouraging Creativity Through Performance Building" programme for Arts CCAs.

Drama Club


Shai has been both Drama Club Teacher-in-Charge and Drama Instuctor for the Junyuan Secondary School Drama Club.

 

They have performed at the Singapore Arts Festival 2012 and have also garnered an Accomplishment award at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging. 

 

His work encourages drama club students to become theatre makers of the future by means of performance building. 

 

 

Drama-in-Curriculum


Shai taught and planned the syllabus for the Drama-in-Curriculum programme at Junyuan Secondary School. The programme was conducted for lower-secondary students.
